CPC--Cost per click
CPM--Cost per 1,000 impressions

FAQs

CPC stands for Cost Per Click. It is how much you pay, on average, each time someone clicks your ad. The formula is CPC = total ad cost / total clicks. It is one of the most common ways to measure how efficiently a paid campaign is buying traffic.
CPM stands for Cost Per Mille, or cost per thousand impressions. It is how much you pay for every 1,000 times your ad is shown. The formula is CPM = (total ad cost / impressions) x 1000. CPM is the standard pricing model for awareness and reach campaigns.
CTR stands for Click-Through Rate, the percentage of people who click your ad after seeing it. The formula is CTR = (clicks / impressions) x 100. A higher CTR usually means your creative and targeting are resonating, and it often lowers your CPC on platforms that reward relevance.
Divide your total ad spend by the number of clicks it generated. For example, $500 spent for 250 clicks gives a CPC of $2.00. Switch this tool to CPC mode, enter your cost and clicks, and it calculates the average cost per click instantly.
Divide your total cost by the number of impressions, then multiply by 1,000. For example, $300 for 200,000 impressions is a CPM of $1.50. In CPM mode, enter your cost and impressions and the tool returns the cost per thousand impressions.
It varies widely by platform, industry and audience, so there is no single good number. Search ads often have higher CPCs than social, and competitive niches cost more. The most useful benchmark is your own trend over time and your break-even, which depends on your conversion rate and margins. Pair this with a ROAS check to see if the cost is actually profitable.
They are three views of the same campaign. If you know two of cost, impressions and clicks, you can derive CPM, CTR and CPC. A strong CTR means you get more clicks from the same impressions, which lowers your effective CPC even when CPM stays the same. This suite calculates whichever metric you need from the figures you have.
