MaxWeb on your landing pages
MaxWeb's model is the VSL: the visitor watches the advertiser's video sales letter and buys on the advertiser's checkout. MaxWeb's own training recommends a pre-lander between the ad and the VSL (what MaxWeb calls a pre-sell page): an advertorial, a quiz or a bridge video that warms the click up before it meets a long presentation. That page is yours to build, and LanderLab is built for it.
The pre-lander also carries the tracking. MaxWeb reports sales by sub ID and posts purchases back to your tracker with those sub IDs, so the sub IDs have to make it from your ad, through the pre-lander, to the affiliate link. LanderLab's Pass Through URL Params makes sure they do.
A pre-lander between the ad and the VSL
Sending cold traffic straight to a long video sales letter asks a lot of a click. A pre-lander does the warming up: a short advertorial that frames the problem, a three-question quiz that makes the visitor feel matched to the offer, or a bridge video. MaxWeb's academy teaches all three, and LanderLab lets you build, publish and split test them on your own domain.
MaxWeb's guidance for pre-landers is clear about the rules: an advertising disclosure at the top, no claims the offer page doesn't make, no prices or discounts, no outside links, a clear link to the advertiser's page, and a page that loads fast. Build to those from the start and approval is easier.
Sub IDs from the ad to the order
MaxWeb's affiliate links take sub IDs, and its postbacks send them back as SUBID macros with each purchase. Put your tracker's click ID in the first sub ID on the URL that reaches your pre-lander, turn on Pass Through URL Params, and every link on the pre-lander carries it to the affiliate link. When the order comes in, MaxWeb's postback returns it to your tracker with the commission, and the sale lands on the ad, the pre-lander and the placement.
Find the pre-lander angle that sells
Split test two pre-lander angles in LanderLab, a personal story against an ingredient explainer, for example, and give each variant's affiliate link its own sub ID value. MaxWeb's reports break sales down by sub ID, geo and device, so the angle that wins is the one that sells, not the one that gets the most clicks to the VSL. LanderLab's own link-click conversions tell you the click-through side of the same test.
Google Ads pre-landers that keep the gclid
On Google Ads, conversion tracking depends on the gclid surviving every hop to the order. MaxWeb's own course recommends passing it as a URL parameter at each redirect step. Pass Through URL Params does that on the pre-lander, forwarding the gclid with everything else on the URL to the affiliate link.
