Carrd vs LanderLab: Which Free Landing Page Builder Can Run a Real Ad Test?

Carrd costs $19 a year, but its free plan cannot fire a pixel or take a lead. Here is what a real paid traffic test needs, and how far each free plan gets you.

Carrd's Pro Standard plan costs $19 a year. Not a month, a year. At that price, it is fair to ask whether you can use Carrd for ads before you pay for a landing page builder.

They can, with one catch. Carrd's free plan cannot run a tracked ad test. It has no custom domain, no forms and no ad pixel. Everything a paid traffic test needs starts on a paid Carrd plan.

LanderLab's free plan works the other way round. It includes your own domain, a code editor for pixels, quiz funnels and unlimited leads. The limit is traffic: 2,500 visits a month.

Prices and limits below come from Carrd's and LanderLab's own pages, checked on October 21, 2026. The short version:

  • For a $0 test: LanderLab. Carrd's free plan cannot capture a lead or fire a pixel.
  • For the cheapest tracked page: Carrd Pro Standard at $19 a year, with a custom domain, simple forms and the Meta Pixel.
  • For quiz funnels, SMS verification and A/B testing: LanderLab. Carrd's docs describe none of the three.
  • For high traffic on a tiny budget: Carrd. It prices by the number of sites and lists no traffic limit.

What a Paid Traffic Test Needs From a Page Builder

A paid traffic test needs 6 things from the page builder. Miss one, and you pay for clicks you cannot measure or leads you cannot use.

  1. Your own domain. The URL in your ads should be one you control, so you can switch tools without editing live ads.
  2. A pixel that fires. The Meta Pixel, TikTok pixel or Google tag has to load on the page, so the ad platform can see which clicks became leads.
  3. A form that sends leads somewhere. An email alert is fine for 10 leads. For 200, you want a sheet, a CRM or a webhook.
  4. A way to qualify. A multi-step form or quiz filters out poor-fit leads before they reach your buyer or sales team.
  5. A/B testing. You want to compare two pages without changing the URL in a live ad.
  6. Room for the test. The plan's traffic limit has to cover the clicks you plan to buy.

Carrd for Ads: What Each Plan Includes

Carrd for ads starts at Pro Standard, $19 a year. That is the cheapest Carrd plan with a custom domain, forms and the ad pixels.

Billing is yearly only, and Carrd sells each plan by the number of sites. Here is what each tier adds for paid traffic, from Carrd's pricing page and docs:

  • Basic, free: 3 sites on a carrd.co address, with Carrd branding. No forms, no embeds, no analytics and no pixel.
  • Pro Lite, $9 a year: removes the branding, but still has no custom domain, forms or pixel.
  • Pro Standard, $19 a year for 10 sites: custom domain with SSL, contact and signup forms, embeds, site analytics, and native Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn pixels.
  • Pro Plus, $49 a year for 25 sites: custom forms that send data to Zapier, Make, n8n or any URL, plus hidden fields, URL variables and Stripe payments.
Carrd for ads by plan: domain, forms and pixels start at Pro Standard, $19 a year

Carrd added native support for the Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel on March 19, 2026, according to its changelog. Older reviews that say Carrd has no pixel support are out of date.

Two limits matter for media buyers. Every Carrd site is a single page, and Carrd's docs say sections only simulate extra pages. Its form docs cover contact, signup, custom and payment forms, with no multi-step logic, quiz branching or A/B testing.

If you run affiliate offers, read Carrd's content policy first. It says Carrd does not permit thin affiliate sites, and such sites may be taken offline.

LanderLab's Free Plan for Paid Traffic

LanderLab's free plan covers a complete paid traffic test, up to 2,500 visits a month. It needs no credit card and does not expire.

Here is what the free plan includes, from the LanderLab pricing page:

  • 2,500 visits a month and 5 published pages
  • 1 custom domain, with SSL and CDN hosting
  • Unlimited leads, plus 1 lead integration such as a CRM, a Google Sheet or a webhook
  • Quiz funnels, with unlimited quiz funnels from the Launch plan
  • The built-in code editor, for the Meta Pixel, TikTok pixel or any other script
  • Ready-made templates and 10 AI credits a month, enough for about 5 AI-built pages

The code editor adds scripts to the page head or before the closing body tag. So a pixel goes in the same way it would on any other site.

Free leaves out 3 things. A/B testing starts on Grow. SMS verification is on paid plans only, at $0.09 per check. And the "Made with LanderLab" badge stays on free pages.

If your test needs more than 2,500 visits a month, Launch covers 100,000. It costs $69 a month on yearly billing or $89 monthly, with 50 pages, 5 domains and no badge.

Carrd vs LanderLab free plans: Carrd lacks a domain, pixel and form, LanderLab includes all three

The table shows two different tools. Carrd is a site builder that can host an ad page. LanderLab is built for ad pages and the leads they collect. If you are not sure which one your campaign needs, read our take on landing page vs website for paid ads.

What a Paid Traffic Test Costs on Each Tool

At test volume, LanderLab costs $0 and Carrd costs at least $19 a year. At scale, Carrd is far cheaper on software, and the gap is the features you would add somewhere else.

  • Testing, up to 2,500 visits a month: LanderLab Free costs $0. Carrd needs Pro Standard at $19 a year, or Pro Plus at $49 if leads must reach a CRM or webhook.
  • Scaling, up to 100,000 visits a month: LanderLab Launch costs $828 a year ($69 a month). Carrd stays at $19 or $49 a year.
  • Testing page versions: LanderLab Grow costs $1,428 a year ($119 a month) and includes A/B testing and 500,000 visits. Carrd has no built-in A/B testing.
Yearly cost by stage: Carrd $19 to $49, LanderLab $0 to test and $828 to scale

Without built-in testing, Carrd users split traffic outside the page builder. You can do that in a tracker, as in this guide to A/B testing with ClickFlare and other trackers.

Then put the software cost next to your media spend. In an example test, 2,500 visits at $1 a click is $2,500 in ads. Next to that, the gap between $0 and $19 a year is small. What decides the test is whether every lead is tracked and counted.

When the test ends, compare your result with these cost per lead benchmarks before you scale.

When Carrd Is the Better Choice

Carrd for ads makes sense when the offer is simple, the traffic is high and the budget is tight. You give up quizzes, built-in testing and lead checks in exchange.

Pick Carrd when:

  • Your offer needs one step, such as an email signup or a click through to a sales page.
  • Your campaigns send far more than 2,500 visits a month and software cost matters most.
  • You need many simple sites. Pro Standard covers 10 of them for $19 a year.
  • You already rotate pages in a tracker and only need somewhere to host them.

LanderLab fits better when the page itself has to qualify the lead. That means quiz funnels with branching rules, SMS codes and TrustedForm certificates. It also posts leads on submit to LeadsPedia, LeadProsper or Phonexa.

If qualification is the goal, see how to build a multi-step quiz funnel in a few minutes.

How to Run a $0 Ad Test on LanderLab's Free Plan

You can run a complete first test on LanderLab's free plan. Keep it inside 2,500 visits a month, and decide with real numbers.

  1. Connect your domain. The free plan includes 1 custom domain with SSL, so the ad points to a URL you own.
  2. Build the page. Start from a template, or describe the offer to the AI builder.
  3. Add your pixel. Paste the Meta Pixel or TikTok pixel into the page's custom code, in the head or before the closing body tag.
  4. Send leads somewhere useful. Use the free plan's 1 lead integration for a Google Sheet, a CRM or a webhook.
  5. Check tracking before you spend. Submit a test lead, then confirm that the pixel event and the lead both arrived.
  6. Size the budget to the cap. In an example at $1 a click, 2,500 visits is $2,500 of ad spend. At a 5% conversion rate, that is 125 leads.
LanderLab free plan test flow: ad, domain page, pixel, quiz, then leads to a sheet

When the offer works, Launch adds 100,000 visits and unlimited quiz funnels. Grow adds A/B testing under the same ad URL, so you can test a new page without touching the live ad.
