Meta Pixel and Conversions API

Ad blockers and cookie settings drop browser pixel fires, so Ads Manager counts fewer leads than your CRM. Run the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API together and Meta hears each lead from the browser and the server.

Why connect it

Why Meta Conversions API and LanderLab

  • Leads that survive ad blockers

Conversions API events leave from LanderLab's server, so ad blockers, cookie restrictions and browser privacy settings don't stop them. The lead reaches Meta even when the pixel fire never happens.

  • Browser and server, counted once

With the Pixel and CAPI on the same Pixel ID, Meta gets two sources for each event and deduplicates them. You get the coverage of both without a double-counted Lead column.

  • Better matching from server events

Server-side events support Meta's advanced matching parameters, which raise the share of conversions Meta can tie back to the person who saw the ad.

  • A Lead event when the quiz is done

LanderLab fires a browser event when a quiz is submitted, and a short listener in the quiz's JS Code tab turns it into a Meta Lead. Meta optimizes on people who finished, not people who clicked.

  • Only the leads worth optimizing for

Workflows (beta) have a Meta CAPI action. Put a Filter or an If in front of it and only homeowners, in-area ZIPs or completed quizzes reach Meta as conversions.

  • Set once, reused on every page

Both integrations are saved globally. A new landing page takes the same pixel in a few clicks, and on a split test you choose which variants report.

Meta Conversions API on your landing pages

If you buy Facebook and Instagram traffic, Meta's delivery decides who sees your next ad, and it decides from the conversions it can see. A pixel that misses a share of your leads hands it a smaller, skewed sample: ad sets look worse than they are, cost per lead in Ads Manager runs above what your CRM says, and the algorithm keeps finding the wrong people.

LanderLab connects to Meta from both sides with one Pixel ID. The Meta Pixel reports from the visitor's browser, and Meta CAPI sends events from LanderLab's server. Both are saved to your LanderLab account once, so every new landing page and quiz picks them from a list instead of starting over.

It's built for media buyers whose budget runs through Meta: lead gen on insurance, solar and debt relief quizzes, ecom offers sold through an advertorial, agencies running a pixel per client. Every lead your page collects becomes a signal Meta can learn from, not just the ones a browser let through.

Meta Conversions API and Pixel on one page

The Pixel and CAPI aren't an either-or. LanderLab runs the Meta Pixel from the browser and the Conversions API from its own server, on the variants you choose. Conversion events then go to Meta from LanderLab's server, where an ad blocker or a cookie setting in the visitor's browser can't stop them.

Run the Pixel with the same ID and Meta hears from both the browser and the server, two sources it can match against each other.

Leads Meta can optimize on

Meta's delivery learns from the conversions it sees. When a pixel fire is blocked, the lead still reaches your CRM but not Meta. Sent from the server, the event reaches Meta whatever the browser allows.

That gap matters most when you're testing. A new ad set with twenty real leads and fourteen reported ones gets cut on the wrong number. Close the gap and the ad sets you kill are the ones that actually lost.

Optimize Meta on qualified leads, not every form fill

A cheap lead from a renter on a roofing quiz is still a conversion to Meta, and Meta will happily find you more renters. LanderLab's Workflows (beta) can sit between the lead and Meta: a Lead trigger on the page, a Filter or an If on the answers that make a lead sellable, and a Meta CAPI action only on the branch that passes.

Meta then optimizes toward the leads your buyer pays for. Every other lead still lands in your Leads tab, your CRM and your sheet as usual, and the Runs view shows which path each one took.

Quiz funnels: count the finish, not the first tap

On a five-step quiz, the moment that matters is the final submit, and that's when the quiz can send Meta its Lead: a short listener in the quiz's JS Code tab fires it, so the event counts people who finished, not people who tapped the first answer.

Visitors who drop out halfway are still useful to you: on Scale and up, LanderLab keeps what they entered as Partial leads in its Leads tab. They just don't become Meta conversions, so your ad sets aren't trained on people who quit at question two.

Use cases

Ways to use Meta Conversions API on paid traffic

  • 01

    Auto insurance quote quizzes

A state-by-state quiz on Facebook traffic fires Lead only on the final submit, CAPI covers the iPhone users whose pixel fires get blocked, and a workflow sends Meta just the drivers with current coverage your buyer accepts.

  • 02

Advertorials ahead of an ecom offer

The pixel on the advertorial builds an audience of readers who scrolled but didn't click, for a cheaper second touch. Pass Through URL Params carries the fbclid and your UTMs to the offer on the way out.

  • 03

A pixel per client for agencies

Save each client's Pixel and CAPI with a clear name, switch the right one on per page, and every client's Events Manager shows the leads your pages produced for them, server events included.

Meta Conversions API integration FAQ

Anything not here, ask us.

Meta Conversions API and LanderLab

Is the Conversions API worth it if I already run the Meta Pixel?

Yes, if you care about the leads the pixel misses. CAPI sends events from LanderLab's server, so ad blockers and browser settings don't stop them, and Meta has two sources to match instead of one.

Will Meta count a lead twice if I run the Pixel and CAPI together?

No. Use the same Pixel ID for both and the browser and server events are deduplicated, so the lead counts once.

Do I need Google Tag Manager or Zapier to connect Meta?

No. Both are LanderLab integrations, saved to your LanderLab account once and switched on per page and per variant.

Can Meta optimize on quiz completions?

Yes. A short listener in the quiz's JS Code tab sends Meta a Lead when the quiz is submitted, so Meta optimizes on finishers.

Can I send Meta only my qualified leads?

Yes. A workflow with a Filter or If ahead of its Meta CAPI action sends a conversion only for the leads that pass your rules.
